初めて遊びに来てくれたみなさん、はじめまして。

ここでは、リネンを初めとする素材のお話、刺繍やレースの知識、オーストラリアでの手仕事を通してつながった出会いなど、

towelket tokyo デザイナーのひとりごとを綴っていきます。

刺繍の世界に迷い込んだような、

このブログを通して、そんなひとときをみなさんと共有する時間になれば幸いです。

今日は初めての投稿なので、towelket tokyo のはじまりのお話をしてみます。

４才の頃から、将来はお洋服を作るお仕事をしたいって決めていた幼い私。

ミシンも編み物も上手なおばあちゃんは私にとっての先生でした。

人生で初めて作ったお洋服は、おばあちゃんと一緒に編んだ、リスのリリさんのセーターでした。

帽子も、マフラーも、手袋も、、

靴下まで作りました。

この時に感じた、お洋服を作るわくわくと完成したときの喜び、

towelket tokyoとしてものづくりする今も、少しも変わりません。

たくさんのモノが溢れ、簡単に捨てられる今。

日本で１年間に廃棄される服はなんと３３億着だそうです。

そのうちの１５億着は一度も袖を通すことなく捨てられる、新品の売れ残りなのです。

服を作る仕事をする上で、この産業がいかに地球の資源を無駄にし、環境を破壊しているかを深く受け止める必要があります。

また、近年アパレル企業のアウトソーシングにより、多くの外国人労働者が不当な条件下で働いています。

利益を追い求め、真実から目を背け続ける市場。

これは、それらの商品を購入し消費する立場でも知るべき事実です。

どうしたら、もっと気持ちよくファッションを楽しめる？

私は、素材にこだわり、丁寧に仕立て、心からそれを愛してくれる人に届けることから始めたいと思いました。

必要以上に作らない。数合わせの妥協した商品は生み出さない。

これらは企業デザイナーとしてのものづくりでは限界があります。

〈 一生もの 〉との出会いって、すごく難しい。

でも、たくさんの愛と手間をかけて生み出される感動ってあらゆる壁を超えて届くんじゃないかなって信じてます。

だから、私は１点１点。デザインからパターン、縫製に刺繍。ぜーんぶに心と時間を込めて向き合える、このフリーランスという形でものづくりをすることに決めました。

流行や誰かの価値観に流されるのではなく、

私、これがスキって、手にとってもらいたい。

そうやってあなたのもとに届いた作品が、あなたの人生に永く、寄り添えますように。

I've just started this blog and I'm going to talk about fabric stories, knowledge of embroidery and laces, my experience in Australia and more here..

I would be happy to share my stories, which makes you feel get lost in the embroidery world.

I would love to talk about the beginning of towelket tokyo.

I was just 4 years old, I decided to become a fashion designer when I grew up.

My grandma was a specialist of sewing and knitting, so she was like a teacher for me.

My experience making clothes for the first time was knitting the jumper for my stuffie with her.

We knitted a beanie, a scarf, gloves and socks too.

I was very excited and happy with making these at that time, and I can feel exactly the same as making clothes even now.

Nowadays, many things are produced and consumed quickly.

3.3 billion pieces of clothing are discarded every year in Japan. Of these, 1.5 billion are brand new unsold items that are thrown away without ever being worn by anyone.

We need to know how this industry is wasting the earth's resources and polluting the environment.

There are also many foreign workers in manufacturing units who work under the unfair contracts due to outsourcing of apparel companies.

The companies are focused too much on profits while turning away from the impact they are having on the environment.

We should be know these fact as consumers of these products.

So, how do we enjoy fashion?

Stopping the system of over manufacturing and compromise in production is sometimes difficult if you're working for a company.

I started pursuing quality of materials, tailoring them with time and effort, and delivering them to someone who truly loves it.

I believe that a work made with much love and effort will impress a lot of people.

That's why I decided to make clothes as a freelancer who can deal with every process including design, pattern making, sewing and embroidery with all my life.

I want you to buy only the clothes that you really love.

Because if you choose clothes by following trends or someone's values, you won't take care of them for a long time.

It might make the fashion industry better and protect the environment.

If you choose towelket tokyo pieces, I hope they will stay with you for the rest of your life.
